Sh*tty game, but all that was needed was a draw and that’s what United received. Not 1 shot on target on the day, but the 0-0 draw was enough to see Manchester United to their 18th league title, equalling the record set by Liverpool.

United 2 – 1 Wigan

Tevez

United fought back from a 1-0 deficit to edge a victory over a Wigan squad set on victory at the JJB. Goals from Carlos Tevez (yet again! “fergie, sign him up!”) and Michael Carrick saw the champions place one hand on the trophy. It is not secure, but at least 1 point in our next 2 games will be enough.

Tevez-Ronaldo

Manchester United edged just a little bit closer to the title once more. Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez (don’t go Carlitos!) were enough to see United within touching distance of the EPL trophy once more. The back-to-back-to-back treble is in full force with United in pole position to put an end to all title challengers come Wednesday. My opinion? Win at the JJB and the title is yours, United!!

I have to say that Tevez has shown 100% consistency this year. He has been nothing short of amazing this term. The fact that United have not shown him any sign of a new contract on the horizon has the Argentine International giving interviews saying that his time at Old Trafford is almost over. I feel sad for him too as he has shown nothing but complete devotion to the club since his arrival 2 years ago. But at the same time, I can understand his frustration. His point is that he would like to be included more-so on the first team in the league. Most will contest that he’s had more playing time than Berbatov. But his lack of inclusion in the EPL with fergie most always choosing the pair between Rooney and Berbs has left Tevez with a sour taste in his mouth. Either way, the argument can go on and on. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens after the final in Rome.

United cruised to a 2-nil defeat of the Boro on early Saturday morning. Middlesbrough never really tested United keeper Van der Sar but a couple of times. United’s defence was on top of their game. Goals from Giggsy (who made his 801st United appearance) and the Three-Lunged Park were enough to see the Red Devils move closer to their 18th League Title.

Ronaldo

Manchester United yet again showed why the Premier League title remains at Old Trafford for 2 years running. A shaky start by the Red Devils put them with their backs against the wall, only to let the red machine crank out goals like they were candies on a Saturday afternoon. Both Bent and Modric put the Spurs ahead by the interval, only for a bad call from ref Howard Webb to go United’s way was all we needed. Yes it was a bad call, but I don’t care… we should have had one earlier, if not sometime this season we should have had AT LEAST one back. So shutup. Ronaldo delivered from the spot with class sending Gomes diving to his left. Go to sleep! All hell broke loose as United scored 3 goals in a span of 11 minutes, with a spell of 5 goals in a total of 22 minutes! After the 2nd goal, Tottenham were shell-shocked.

Rooney scored a brace, as did Ronaldo. Berba finallly managed to get on the scoresheet to score the 5th, cherry on top if you ask me, of the game.

United 2 – 0 Portsmouth

Rooney

Manchester United lept back to the summit of the Premier League table with a dominating performance over Portsmouth. Rooney opened up the scoresheet 9 minutes into the game, but United could not capitalize over the weak defence of Pompey. Both squads had their chances, however it was United that had the most of them. Carrick finally sealed the deal in the 82nd minute to shoot the Red Devils back into 1st place, 3 points ahead of Liverpool.

Come on you Reds!

Macheda

Federico Macheda, once again, sealed a victory for Manchester United, furthering his ever-growing reputation! The 17-yr old deflected a Carrick shot towards goal and snuck in into the far post. That’s 2 goals in 2 games for the young Italian. And now, Lazio President is saying that United “snatched” Macheda away from their youth academy. Pfft, like he gave as sh*t before.

Well done, son!

Highlights will be posted asap

United 3 – 2 Villa

Macheda - Ronaldo

Federico Macheda (above with Ronaldo) scored the late winner for Manchester United when a 2-2 draw looked on the cards. The young 17-year old curled a sublime effort into the top right of the net after a stubborn Villa would not subside. Macheda saved United in what would’ve been the first time out of 1st place in a long time. United only 3 months ago destroyed everyone, but the shock of back to back losses had them reeling, I feel. Both squads had several chances with Villa making the most of their possession each time in attack. At the half United had 2 shots at goal, one of which was opened up by a nice free kick by our boy Ronaldo. Villa had 4 shots on goal with Van der Sar having to make 3 saves, but unable to stop a Villa header that placed the visitors on level terms at the half hour mark. Sir Alex Ferguson gambled and it payed off sweetly with the introduction of substitute for Nani in Macheda. Once he was on the pitch, United started to get deeper and deeper into the Villa half. Ronaldo’s brace in the 80th put us on level terms after Agbonlahor put the visitors up 2-1. But the steal of the match would belong to the late substitute with United on the attack 2 minutes into stoppage time. Ryan Giggs provided the assist and Macheda on a nice turn placed the ball perfectly into the right side of the goal.

Gerrard-Torres

I’ll give them props for beating us, but they ought to know they only beat us because of HORRIBLE defensive mistakes on our part.

See you in the UCL Bitches!

United 2 – 1 Newcastle

Dimitar Berbatov (pictured above) scored Manchester United’s winning goal against the Newcastle Jets. Edwin Van der Sar’s long defensive shutout record came to a halt only 9 minutes into the game. He is 6th all time in the world for longest streak w/o a goal conceded. Peter Lovenkrands scored a poachers goal as VDS spilled a relatively easy save from Newcastle’s Martinez. The Jets’ lead only lasted a little over 9 minutes as Wayne Rooney opened up United’s score sheet on a superb pass from John O’Shea. Rooney turned and fired a left footed shot that deflected off a Newcastle defender and into the net. Berbatov scored the Red Devils’ winner and sealed the 3-points to maintain their 7-point lead at the summit of the Premier League.

United are still 8 wins away from retaining their championship title for the third year in a row. However, with Liverpool failing to find continuity in their squad and Chelsea just coming under a new boss, it looks fairly certain that the Reds should be able to hold onto their lead throughout the rest of the season.

Manchester United still have a return leg at Old Trafford against Italian giants Internazionale which should be a cracking game. United’s next game is Saturday 3/7 @ 11:15a CST in the FA Cup against Fulham.
