How Could You Be So Jobless?

It’s being called “Reduction In Force” and yet another force, which will be doing the same work was implemented in another state. Not even outsourcing. So the ‘job-hunt’ has been underway since 7-1, but nothin doin. Such is life, I guess.

Michael Jackson…heart attack?

Michael Jackson was rushed to UCLA Medical Center this afternoon after paramedics called to his home found him not breathing, a Los Angeles Fire Department captain told the Los Angeles Times.

Capt. Steve Ruda told the newspaper that paramedics were called to Jackson’s home at 12:26 p.m. They performed CPR and took him to the medical center.

Separately, the celebrity gossip site TMZ.com reported that Jackson apparently suffered a heart attack.

A Jackson family member, who was not identified, told TMZ the singer was in “really bad shape.” Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, who was in Las Vegas, was quoted as saying he had heard his son was “not doing well.”

Michael Jackson’s mother and at least some of his brothers were reportedly gathered at UCLA Medical Center awaiting news on Jackson’s condition.

(CNN) — Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. CNN has not confirmed his death.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez had discussed the band’s next album as early as January 2008, the month that The Bedlam in Goliath was released, claiming “I consider it to be our acoustic album.” Cedric Bixler-Zavala had expressed an urge for the album to not be released on a major label. In February 2009, Rodriguez-Lopez claimed “the next two Mars Volta records are already recorded and waiting for a release date.”

On April 14, 2009, The Mars Volta announced their fifth studio album, entitled Octahedron. It has been released June 23 in the US and June 22 in the rest of the world. In a spirit of distillation of the band’s sound, Rodriguez-Lopez asked saxophonist Adrián Terrazas-González and guitarist/sound manipulator Paul Hinojos to leave.

I’ve had a chance to hear this album, and I think it’s REALLY good. I wasn’t impressed with Bedlam or Amputechture. My favorite album is Frances the Mute. But I’d have to say that between Octahedron and De-Loused, it’s hard to decide which is my favorite 2nd place album. Octahedron is a very relaxed album, nothing too experimental about it. It’s a pretty straight forward joint, but has some of the best vocals I’ve heard in a long time by Cedric. Omar’s guitar-work is never EVER short of amazing, and this album is no exception. I like the simplicity of it much more, which is why I think I didn’t like Bedlam or Amputechture. Too distorted and too much going on. This new set is definitely worth a purchase!

Real offer £80m for Ronaldo, World Record

Manchester United have allowed talks between Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of £80million for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

At the request of Cristiano – who has again expressed his desire to leave – and after discussion with the player’s representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player.

Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June. The club will not comment until further notice.

Looks like the inevitable is happening. I always had a feeling about it. The only thing that eased my mind was when SAF said “I wouldn’t sell that mob(Madrid) a virus.” I think it’s going to be interesting to see where United go from here. Ronaldo, albeit a fussy one, will leave the Red Devils with a huge gap on the wing. I think he’s done his job here, honestly. Being with United for over 5 seasons and he’s won his share of trophies playing for United. Accolades will still come to the young man, 24, and surely he will still shine in La Liga. We shall see. I said it last year, let him go if he want’s to go. I’d rather have players on the team that want to be on the team, than a superstar who doesn’t. But in all fairness, Ronaldo has done things with Manchester United that no one else will do for a long time, respectively. And for that, I say congratulations Ronaldo. Everyone get’s what they want(ed).

Manchester United have already cashed in and sold Fraizer Campbell for, I think, £6m. And they are almost on the oust with Tevez looking more and more like going to City. It makes you wonder if United are trying to get as much money as they can to bring in, perhaps Benzema from Lyon and Ribery from Munich. United are also looking at Valencia from Wigan.
